About

The Otterburn Festival began as a small country show in 2000 on a 25-acre field adjacent to Otterburn Mill. In 2001 a severe outbreak of Foot & Mouth disease affected Northumberland, closing down all of the country shows. Many peoples still wanted a country show, so the Otterburn Festival was transformed into a show of vintage farming machinery and tractors. The show was a huge success and all the exhibitors demanded we ran the show again the following year.

By 2002 the number of visitors had doubled and the two-day show attracted over 5,000 visitors and raised over £3,000 for The Great North Air Ambulance Appeal.

In 2009 we celebrated the tenth Otterburn Festival in style with The Red Arrows performing their full aerial display on the Sunday morning. This was a fantastic crowd pleaser and combined with other attractions made for a memorable weekend. We also had an impressive flyover by the Battle of Britain Memorial flights Dakota. The show ring was busy all weekend with outstanding displays from the Marine Commando Reserves, Falconry Days Birds of Prey flying demonstration, a dog agility display by the Northumberland Canine Centre and of course the displays of vintage vehicles. In total an amazing £17,004 was raised for the Great North Air Ambulance during the 2009 Otterburn Festival.

We would like to thank everyone who is involved with and supports the Otterburn Festival - we hope to see you in 2011.
